Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is the body the pastor consults to evaluate parish life and recommend improvements, but not to implement the recommendations. The Council advises, but does not administer; the pastor shares responsibility by involving the Council in pastoral planning. The basic job of the Pastoral Council is the on-going renewal of the parish as a whole. The Council works with the pastor in helping the parish become what it is called by God to be a community of faith, doing the work Jesus laid out for his followers. Through the attention to the parish as a whole, the Council helps parishioners to be responsive to the needs of all segments of the community, including the youth, the aging, ethnic minorities, disabled persons, and single-parent families
